October's (Zoom) meeting saw the much anticipated talk by the Alnwick Poison Garden and it was a packed (virtual) house with many visitors as well as members.
First we had a very entertaining short film, shot in the gardens earlier in the year so we could see the plants in bloom and leaf, and then a long and informative Q&A session. The Poison Garden was the project of the Duchess of Northumberland who was inspired by another garden while on a trip to Italy, and it has grown into an educational site stressing that just because something is 'natural' does not mean it cannot kill!
Members shared their knowledge of plants, medicine and serial killers, and a good time was had by all.
Many thanks to Dean, Ruth and John for staying on after work, and for the members of the committee who gently nudged the talk into existence.
Next month : Lisa gets her baubles out.... No, really
